Tempus Fugit - HP RPG - DH canon
The year is 2001. Voldemort was defeated 3 and a half years ago, and the wizarding world is busily rebuilding.
The Death Eater threat has been eliminated, at least as far as the Ministry is concerned.
Relations between Muggle and Wizard have been a love/hate relationship. Integration has been the order of the day for the past year, but changes are on the horizon as attacks on wizards from muggles and vice versa have increased.
More strangely, those known to be dead have been appearing. While no one seems to know the rationale, no one can deny that it is happening.
Now, the Ministry is fighting two battles. One, to determine the future of Muggle and Wizard interactions, and the other to define where these dead citizens belong.
We are looking for vibrant characters with a thirst to redefine the wizarding world. Original Characters are welcome, but please be aware that certain rules apply.
This is an epic-style game. Plot arcs spanning months are welcome and encouraged!
Please take a look at our rules before applying.
Characters desperately wanted: RON WEASLEY and HARRY POTTER They are both available and with no required game history to keep!!!!!
For specific player-driven plots we are very much in need of Neville Longbottom! The loyal DA crew would love to have him around. Specifically, Ginny has expressed missing their close friend and confidant!
Weasley Clan! We need you! Ginny and Charlie would love to have you around!
Muggle-lovers, Muggleborns and Half-bloods are especially desired! The Ministry wants to give you MONEY! (war reparations). You are wanted by the Ministry for positions of power and influence. Aurors and other Ministry officials are very much encouraged! OCs welcome!
While not listed as available or desired, we are accepting applications for those returning from the dead. However, before applying, please email the mods to discuss possibilities. Thank you.

Desperately Wanted - Ron Weasley! Ronald Weasley is twenty-one. Since leaving Hogwarts he has joined the Ministry and is in his last year of training to become an Auror. Recently he has been selected for important assignments, including guarding the muggle Prime Minister on a trip to Diagon Alley, and he has been given a very large pay rise. This is because the Ministry is rewarding people and their families who have integrationist views. Ron isn't aware of this motivation however, and believes he has earned his wage rise. Ron is currently in a slowly developing relationship with Hermione Granger. In game we also have Ron's sister, Harry, Luna, who has been teaching Ron to cook - fortunately with relatively mundane ingredients. We are also currently seeking Ron's brothers and parents. This character has some back-history, though it is not restrictive. There are plots both wide and small available for this character, and they are ready for you to leap into. Ron's full activity can be found hereIf you have any further queries please email us at tempusfugit[dot]admin[at]gmail[dot]com. We look forward to receiving your application! | | Saturday, April 12th, 2008 | | 2:35 pm |
RolePlay Etiquette FAQ As we grow, we get a variety of people with various backgrounds regarding RP styles and experience. However, even our most experienced players can always use a refresher course in ettiquite Now, examples are taken from REAL IN GAME situations, or at least tinkered with said situations, so don't be offended, but it's an illustration of why we are so awesome!
01. Internal Monologue An RPers best friend. Fills out not only your character, but also the scene. So much is said with what is left unsaid, but that only works if we can see *inside* your head. How do we know if your character is lying? Given how little screen time we actually can manage for our characters since we're not actually playing out full hour-long segment daily, we need other ways to show! Tell us what they're thinking! Memories! Physical sensations! Remember! WYSIWYG! What you see is what you get!
02. Tag Order We respect that not everyone can be on at the same time, nor as often as others. Because of this, we are willing to let some threads take longer than others! Similar to table top, we continue an established order for conversations, unless the muns involved specifically ask otherwise. Still, isn't it great to know we respect each other's REAL LIFE enough for this? Yes, it means sometimes plots seem to take longer, but that isn't always a bad thing!
03. Communication amongst PlayersBecause our threads can take weeks, or even months, to finish, we communicate with each other. Out of game. Whether it's email or IM, we talk about plots or where our characters are going. Sometimes, it seems like too much, especially with real life being as important as it is. If there's some place we want to go with our characters, we talk to each other, plan and plot and allow characters to move on from the thread instead of waiting weeks for an answer to it. After all, we generally know how our character will react. Sometimes, it doesn't work as well, but we try!
04. Plot Twists Like any good soap opera, the obvious answer isn't always THE answer. Sometimes people/characters don't do what we expect, especially given extenuating circumstances. And certainly, the months of agony for our characters can be horrific for us as well, but it made for GREAT drama! It made for great character development. Sometimes we don't realize how another character will perceive an action, and while we may not always LIKE how it goes, the character isn't ours. Embrace the plot twists, and know that even if there is a lot of angst for your character at the moment, there is always the opportunity to turn things around, if you only stick with it!
05. God-moding What is "god-moding"? God-moding is taking control of another character's actions in the course of your posts. An example, where the writter of the post is playing Harry; "Harry stood angrily, balling up his fists and lashing out, hitting Ron in the jaw. Ron stumbled back and fell to the ground." You cannot say whether another person's character fell to the ground after being hit! We find it works best to say something more like this; "Harry stood angrily, balling up his fists and lashing out in an attempt to knock Ron to the ground." See the difference?
06. Different kinds of Drama There is a difference between spur of the moment vs plotted drama. Plotted drama is very preferable to spur of the moment! Plotted drama is always fun, planning with your fellow muns to wreak havoc in your character's world! But these sorts of plots are the kind that need to be cultivated, not done haphazard. If you want to have your character do something, please keep in mind the long-lasting consequences of their actions. Don't have your character run off with someone, leaving behind their husband/wife/girlfriend/boyfriend just because you want to have a bit of a romp! Those things are best left to the fluff and smut community. Remember that anything you do can have long-lasting effects on those characters around yours, so think before you do anything!
07. How often should I post? Post as often as you want! However, there are posting guidelines for the minimum you must post. If you are either a CORE character (Harry, Draco, Ron, Hermione) or are involved in a MAJOR story arc (something that affects the world around your character rather than just one or two characters) then you must post at least 2-3 times per week. This can include tagging threads, beginning threads or journal entries. For other characters, minimum post once per week, but please remember the more you post, the more you can be involved! We as mods, and other players will see your activity and if you are not part of a larger plot already, then certainly you will be foremost in our minds for the next! And we will be far more likely to approve YOUR plot suggestions if you have shown us that you will be consistant and follow through on them. Of course, if you have a life event that requires you to be away or to reduce your number of posts, we understand! Just please let us know.
08. When do I need to email mods about a plot? We are rather strict mods, and do not want plots running amuck. Though, here are good guidelines for things that we do NOT need to give you pre-approval for: Character hook-ups and break ups (unless the hook-up/break-up will affect a much larger number of people, such as Lily and James, etc) character vacations or get-aways, small interpersonal interactions such as friends getting together for occasions, chance "run-ins" between characters, whether friendly or not as long as it doesn't affect in-progress or planned plots. (Such as Harry running into Bellatrix, only to have a plot the next week involve the very same thing) Things that we DO need approval on: Major plots that will involve more than 2-3 persons, marriages, divorces, weddings, babies, major character shifts, and things that will be ongoing plots for more than 2-3 months. 09. What if I'm having problems, OOC or IC with a player/character? Of course, we encourage friendships between all of our players, and we believe this fosters a willingness to talk amongst yourselves when something is irritating you. Most issues between players are misunderstandings, and when you approach it as such then it will be easier to work through. But, if you don't feel like you can, or you're not comfortable talking to the other person, please IM the mods! We are here to help, and will do the best we can. Don't let things fester and get out of hand before seeking assistance from us! We value all our players, and want to keep you all in the game.
10. Can I have my OTP (one true pairing)? Or is that taboo? Of course it's not taboo! But we as mods and experienced players have found that it's best if you come into the game without any preconceived notions of who you might want to have your character pair with. Especially if the player for your intended has different ideas about who they want their character to be with. That being said, please check our rules about pairings and such.
11. Always give your fellow RPers something to work with! When making posts, always have to give your fellow RPers something to begin their posts from, a place for them to continue your story with them. Have your character ask them a question, continue the conversation by remarking on points of THEIR post, have your character take action that involves them. These are all good ways to further the plot and the post!
12. Can my post only be one line? Yes, though with a few reservations. In our game, we pride ourselves on good writing! One line posts generally are not considered good writing, sometimes they are a necessity. Please ONLY use one line posts if they are all that is needed to further your story at the moment. A good way to bulk up your posts is by putting in a few movements, actions or physical habits that your character may posess. | | Thursday, April 10th, 2008 | | 9:13 pm |

Resurrected Characters Special Rules for Game Play for Resurrected Characters In order to come back, the dead must have a reason. They must be needed by someone. Though in game people won't understand the process, for the application, you, the player, must provide a reason for the character to come back.
Resurrected characters cannot perform the unforgivables. As the spells have the potential to split the soul, and do damage to it, it would destroy the soul of a resurrected character and they would die.
They cannot own property as magical inheritance laws would get confusing.
They only come back with what they had on their person. Their property has been either been confiscated by the Ministry or passed down to whomever was listed as beneficiary. This means that if in the memory they are in dress robes, that is how they return. If the memory includes them tattered and ragged, that is how their clothing is.
The dead cannot die. They also do not age. They are infertile.
All resurrected characters arrive in the current day in the Forbidden Forest, but stumble awkwardly and confusedly until well beyond the borders. No character has seen them arrive. No one knows where they are coming from. Resurrected characters have their memory magically fogged due to the nature of the rift until they are well beyond the forest.
The age of any resurrected character is frozen at the strongest body-image the soul had in the afterlife. The exception to this is no characters may be younger than 17.
Any memory of suitable strength can be used as the point of reference for a character. It can be positive or negative. However, they must have full memory up until the moment they return. Therefore, while yes, defining moments can be before age 17, for the purposes of this game, the moment must be at age 17 or later.
Be aware that not everyone will be happy to see the dead return. Some are wanted men. Some have enemies. Many will be wary at best. Prejudice will be high. | | Saturday, April 5th, 2008 | | 11:40 pm |
01) You're asking for my real name, and I don't like giving that out. Can't I just give you my nickname?Sure, we just want a preferred name. We need to call you something! 02) Why do I need to be 18?Although our game is not centered around adult situations, these will naturally arise during the course of the game. 03) Do I have to stick to Ollivander's three wand cores? No, but we would like you to explain your choices and how they relate to your character. 04) Can I apply with an Original Character?Original Characters will be given consideration, though acceptance will be restricted. If you are considering applying for an original character, it is worth emailing us at tempusfugit.admin@gmail.com If you are applying for an original character of trio age, please note that there are many canon characters worthy of consideration and applications for these will be given preference over original characters. 05) Why are you asking for my email address/screen names? We need to be able to contact you with any questions, and of course if you are accepted we will need your contact information to play with you! 06) Why does it matter if my character is gay/bisexual and a pureblood? We feel that characters who come from pureblood supremist families, could not happily be openly gay or bisexual. These are families who value the continuation of their pure blood, and clearly an open same-sex relationship would not be acceptable. Of course we realise that despite prejudices, there will be persons who are attracted to their own sex. If you have noted that your character falls into this catagory, we will expect an explanation of how you anticipate your character will deal with this and the implications involved. Please note: This does not mean your character 'must be straight' it just means that like anything else about your character, we'd like you to have thought about how it affects their lives. 07) What is a PB, and why do I need one?PB means 'Played By', and is an actor/singer/model/whoever that you chose as a visual representation of your character. Whilst this is not central to game play, it helps to have a visual reminder of the characters behind screen names, particularly with any less commonly known characters. You will need one. 08) How detailed do you want the application form to be?We need to know that you have a good understanding of your character, not just that you know his or her stats. Your application needs to be detailed enough to demonstrate this to us. 09) Why do I need to provide a writing sample?Knowing what your character looks like, and their history, is important. However, knowing that you can take your knowledge and understanding, and write in a way that conveys this is important too. We will also want to see that you have a good grip of grammar, spelling and punctuation. 10) What do you mean political leaning? With the war over, the political "parties" have altered somewhat. Please use the following as a guide to help you gain a better grasp of where your character falls on the spectrum. If you have further questions, please check out this post for examples. Integrationist: Liberal - integrate now, why wait? Conservative - start process now, but don't rush too quickly [they would still consider the embassy missions good] Separatist: Liberal - OK, so maybe integrating right now isn't good. Or maybe we should keep things separate, but ease up on prejudices on those who cross lines? Conservative - integrating isn't a good idea. We're separate for a reason. There should be punishments for those who endanger the separation. Isolationist: Liberal - integrating? NO. We are separate and different and those who cross boundaries should not be allowed to return. Muggleborns should not be allowed to attend Hogwarts. Conservative - any who cross boundaries should be killed. muggles are creatures. muggleborns are an abomination | | 9:40 am |

The Rules Logistics: ** This game is for adults. 18 and up only. Thank you.
** No one-liners. The only exception to this being occasional journal entries. (please see FAQ)
** We do have activity checks, please only apply if you have the time to play.
** Every player may apply for two characters. We reserve the right to ask you to wait to prove your activity level prior to applying for a second character. Third characters are accepted on very select basis. Be prepared to prove your longevity and commitment.
** While everyone likes to pretend he is no drama, we understand that is not always the case. IC drama is lovely and encouraged (please see FAQ), but OOC drama is not. Try to keep things between yourselves as we all are adults (at least legally, folks, so let's try to behave as such?).
** Occasionally, OOC drama gets out of control. If this is the case, please feel free to contact the mods.
**Each character must have a personal journal.
Characters: ** Original characters are welcome. Some creative license on canon characters is welcome (within reasonable growth potential for the past two years). Mary/Gary Stus are not.
** Canon compliant! We use book canon as opposed to movie canon. Any deviation after the last chapter of Deathly Hallows is allowed within reason.
** Characterization is key. While we do allow slash and odd pairings, there must be basis for it. Characters do change over time, but they need catalysts to do so.
--We reserve the right to add to these rules at any time. Please check to make sure you have read an updated version before applying. Thank you

Death Eaters and those with family ties to them All Death Eaters who have been found have been imprisoned and given the Dementor's Kiss. Some, including Lucius Malfoy, decided that suicide, even by Muggle means, would be preferable to the Kiss. Any Death Eater not captured has lost everything, all money, all property, and will always have to live in the shadows. If found, there is a 30,000 galleon award for their capture.
All families with demonstrable ties to Death Eaters are forced to pay reparations to pay for the reconstruction. Some fortunes are completely absorbed by the ministry.
Death Eater characters are either destitute outlaws living by their wits or resurrected. If resurrected, please also see the entry on resurrected characters.
Exceptions to this fate are those with a Pardon. Pardons are rare, and to date, only two have been granted. If you would like to petition for one, please find canonical reasons for it if doing so in character creation. If you want to have a character petition for one in game play, then by all means, contact the mods. ;-) | | Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008 | | 11:01 am |
The Story After Voldemort was destroyed in May of 1998, the wizarding world turned its face and eyes to a new world, a new beginning. Still, distrust is hard to ignore. Paranoia spread as the full impact of the war became apparent. As the Ministry was revamped, several new laws and policies were adopted.
First among the changes was a complete intolerance for any pureblood supremacy views. All marked Death Eaters have a hefty price on their head and are promised the Dementor's Kiss for their crimes against Wizard-kind. Their families suffered as well as reparations were demanded, denting or depleting the personal coffers of most pureblood families.
Over the next year, the Ministry also began research into the Statute of Secrecy and whether or not it belongs in the 21st century. With extremist voices silenced by fear of imprisonment or fines, moderate voices are the only opposition to the new wave of integration. Those who promote the integration cite religious tolerance, "new age" and general mysticism as why Muggles can handle knowledge of wizards and witches.
Now, integration policies are in place and slowly, the wizarding world is starting to lift its veil for the first time in over 300 years. While not inviting Muggles into Diagon Alley just yet unless immediate family members of magic folk, the use of magic in front of Muggles is no longer illegal. However, Muggle-hunting or any other form of magical supremacy activity is strictly forbidden.
Unknown to anyone, in February of 2001, Adriana Selwyn found the Resurrection Stone in the Forbidden Forest. Feeling magic in it, she recalls to herself the shadow of her father. Inspired, she uses a mix of dark magic, blood and the Resurrection Stone, she gives her own life trying to bring back Lord Voldemort, hoping his return would stop the integration.
The spell backfired. Adriana died, but her life-force entered the Stone and opened a rift in time, allowing those who had died to return if need, desire, and opportunity arose.

Seeking Andromeda Tonks Tempus Fugit sees a world struggling to find its way after the second war. Lives have been lost, terrible things have happened, but still the world must continue. Since the death of her husband, daughter and son-in-law, Andromeda has been caring for her grandson Teddy. Whilst Andromeda cares for Teddy day-to-day, she takes him The Burrow to visit friends and of course his Godfather.
Andromeda is a character that gives a lot of freedom to the player for personality and beliefs. Since she was only seen in the last book, there's so much not known about what she does or how she lived. Tonks, her daughter, has an extremely active player who would love to see plots expand.
This is a role which would be immediately active. Amongst the resurrected include her daughter, son-in-law and cousins. Andromeda is a much needed character, and a wonderful opportunity for a player who would really like to explore her character in depth. The future will also see the return of Andromeda's sister Bellatrix.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the admin team. We look forward to seeing your application!

Especially wanted! Molly Weasley! Tempus Fugit sees a world struggling to find its way after the second war. Lives have been lost, terrible things have happened, but still the world must continue. Molly is a woman who knows all too well the grief of losing a loved one; her brothers were lost to the first war, and her son Fred to the second. As the world tries to right itself her children are pursing their aims, striving to become adults and to deal with the sadness and confusion that lingers in their lives. This confusion is only compounded by the resurrection of those who are dead. Many of these people will be known, and perhaps loved by Molly. There is no shortage of comfort, cooking or advice that Molly would be needed to provide.
Molly is also needed in an upcoming plot involving herself and her family, who are being deliberately targeted by the Ministry to be used as shining examples of the 'correct' way to behave in the post-war society. This is a long term arc, and would benefit from a keen and involved player!
This role is an excellent place to explore Molly's character post-war, as she tries to bring together both family and lost loved ones. There is no previous game history for this character, and we would welcome applications from players who really want to sink their teeth into this role.
Presently, we have both Ron and Ginny within our game, and a host of other characters Molly would be familiar with.
We look forward to receiving your application!

Especially wanted! Neville Longbottom! Tempus Fugit sees a world struggling to find its way after the second war. Lives have been lost, terrible things have happened, but still the world must continue.
With no previous history, this role is an open opportunity to develop Neville's character. As he finds his way in the post-war world, there will be plenty of activity to be found for Neville. He will not be short of other characters for interaction, and we would welcome applications from people who love the character and would enjoy bringing him into the adult world.
We presently have the full trio, Luna, Ron and various resurrected characters who would be known to Neville. | | 1:00 am |
Pureblood Families Please note: This information is intended as guidance only. Family obligationAn obligation could be considered a duty, or more crudely a debt. The belief in 'family obligation' means that your first loyalty must be to your family. Your actions and behaviour must reflect in a proper manner upon you and other members of your family. Anything which may be perceived as detrimental to the image of your family, or harmful to its aspirations must be suppressed. Family obligation must always come before personal happiness. For example; Dasiy Middleton's parents have made lots of money in trade, they are aspiring to join the ranks of the most elite pureblood families. It is their greatest wish to dine with the most prominent members of society, to be respected by them. Daisy's parents have worked hard to attain an invitation to the most prestigious event of the year - a dinner held by a family considered to be the epitome of pureblood refinement. This invitation may secure them connections, further invitations, a good reputation amongst the very people they wish to become. Daisy is young and enjoys socialising with her friends. She loves to flirt, and enjoys the freedom being away from her parents affords. One night she is at a bar with her friends; she drinks far too much alcohol, kisses several men, and ends the night falling asleep in her seat only to be carried home by her friends. However normal this behaviour amongst her friends, and however greatly Daisy enjoys her experience, her parents will certainly not be happy. Their hard work and reputation would be ruined in a moment if the story of Daisy's behaviour ever spreads. This is an example that is not unlikely to happen, however there will be severe repercussions for Daisy. She may face restrictions on her socialising, severe reprimands from her family, and potentially being disowned by her parents. The level of tradition and ambition will vary from family to family, but the idea of 'family obligation' is strong amongst pureblood families (even to a lesser extent with the more liberal pureblood families, such as the Longbottoms). In applications and within the game, it is important that these factors are taken into account. We want to see that you have thought realistically about your characters family, their personality and behaviour, and how these things conflict or not. Pureblood status and its relationship to money. The prominent pureblood families in wizarding society (Black, Malfoy etc) have a long and prestigious history. Their family tree will extent far back, with generations of wizards and witches who have worked hard, made personal sacrifices and conformed to family obligation in order to achieve the 'rightful' place of their family. The acquisition of money goes along with these ambitions; in order to live to the expected standard, in order to hold their own amongst other families, they must have the funds to do so. In the course of any family history wealth will wax and wane, as members invest wisely or gamble foolishly. However, it is likely that misfortune in regards to gold will follow into the reputation of the family. When families begin to become wealthy their aspirations usually grow. When pureblood families who have drifted through middle-class society have gathered a level of money suitable to afford them an upper-class lifestyle, they will naturally try to attain this level. The ease of this transition will depend upon the connections, determination and skilfulness of the family in question. Families who try for new social levels after coming into money are frequently guarded with disdain ("I see the Middleton family have been invited, new money of course.") They will need to try very hard to fit in to their new setting - they must uphold standards to a greater perfection than even the very people they wish to be. Family obligation will be high amongst these families. Pureblood characters and family linksWe know that all pureblood families are linked in some way. Any pureblood witch or wizard desiring an equally pureblooded spouse will struggle to find one not connected to his or her family tree by blood or marriage. The group to choose from narrows even further if the witch or wizard seeks a particularly prestigious family. However not all purebloods will be closely related, and some families have several branches on their family tree. If you are applying for an established character, then you will need to be aware of these links. Whether it is to use them to your characters benefit, or otherwise. If you are applying for an Original Character who is pureblood, we would recommend that you consider where that character's family will fit in to the family tree, and therefore their relation to other characters already in the game. A good starting point is the Black family tree, which may provide some inspiration http://www.hp-lexicon.org/images/blackfamilytrees/official-final-version.gif. If this is a matter you are struggling with, please feel free to email the admin team who will be happy to give suggestions. Pureblood sexualityWe are not going to tell you what the sexuality of your character is or should be, unless it is an unrealistic contradiction to canon. However, if your character is pureblood there are factors to be taken into account. Regardless of true sexuality, any pureblood witch or wizard with a traditional pureblood family will be expected to make a 'good' heterosexual marriage. Obviously family pressure and obligation will make this a tough time for your character if they are in fact gay. It will of course depend on how traditional your characters family is, but in a typically strict pureblood family the decision to forgo the opposite sex will be met with extreme disapproval. If you have decided that this is your characters route, we will be looking to see that you are aware of the consequences of this. Example: If Daisy Middleton decides that she loves a woman and doesn't want a marriage, her family are more than likely to disown her. It is not necessarily disapproval of her sexuality (there may be plenty of purebloods for whom their sexuality is a guarded secret) but of a choice which conflicts with their aspirations and obligations. To join their family to a more prestigious one, and to produce heirs to the line. Even if your character does come from a family who would disapprove of a non-heterosexual lifestyle, it is possible for them to conceal their true sexuality. We do not want you to feel restricted, but to address the issues present depending on your characters nature and decisions. Private vs public livesThe conflict of family obligation and personal happiness will vary according to a character's personality and the nature of their family. However we can assume that there is at least a little to be found in any traditional pureblood family. Whether it be a sexuality that must be hidden, or a strong desire to become a muggle footballer. How your character deals with their own personal drives and ambitions in relation to family expectations is entirely down to you - but where confliction exists, it must be addressed. It is not only these factors which inhibit the public lives of our pureblood families. With a reputation to uphold, our strict traditional families will have raised their children to behave in a certain way. Their manners will be carefully refined (though perhaps applied to only those worthy of them!), their ettiquette will be flawless, and of course they would never discuss family problems in public. The control of their behaviour will extend to their relationships and how they are conducted in public. Displays of affection may be seen as vulgar if ill timed, and pureblood marriages may at surface level seem cold and unloving, though this may not be the case at all behind closed doors. Equally when it comes to their children; though mothers and fathers may display less affection for their children than one might usually expect, this does not necessarily indicate that there is no affection. Whilst passions and wild behaviour might be frowned upon in public, the business of the family behind closed doors is no ones to dictate. RelationshipsThis is a wide topic that will not be discussed fully here. Relationships vary from couple to couple. There will be pureblood marriages arranged solely for convieniance, and couples who love each other very much. If you are considering a relationship that already exists when applying, or entering into one in game there are a few points worth considering: - Traditional pureblood families will expect their children to marry pureblood witches or wizards - how will your character cope with this, if they choose otherwise are they prepared to be disowned? - Pureblood girls may be expected to 'wait until marriage' - if your character isn't doing this, are they concealing it from their family? - What is the public/private balance of your character's relationship with their spouse? - Is it a loveless marriage? A warm one? How do they behave in front of others, and in private? |
