01) You're asking for my real name, and I don't like giving that out. Can't I just give you my nickname?
Sure, we just want a preferred name. We need to call you something!
02) Why do I need to be 18?
Although our game is not centered around adult situations, these will naturally arise during the course of the game.
03) Do I have to stick to Ollivander's three wand cores?
No, but we would like you to explain your choices and how they relate to your character.
04) Can I apply with an Original Character?
Original Characters will be given consideration, though acceptance will be restricted. If you are considering applying for an original character, it is worth emailing us at tempusfugit.admin@gmail.com
If you are applying for an original character of trio age, please note that there are many canon characters worthy of consideration and applications for these will be given preference over original characters.
05) Why are you asking for my email address/screen names?
We need to be able to contact you with any questions, and of course if you are accepted we will need your contact information to play with you!
06) Why does it matter if my character is gay/bisexual and a pureblood?
We feel that characters who come from pureblood supremist families, could not happily be openly gay or bisexual. These are families who value the continuation of their pure blood, and clearly an open same-sex relationship would not be acceptable. Of course we realise that despite prejudices, there will be persons who are attracted to their own sex. If you have noted that your character falls into this catagory, we will expect an explanation of how you anticipate your character will deal with this and the implications involved.
Please note: This does not mean your character 'must be straight' it just means that like anything else about your character, we'd like you to have thought about how it affects their lives.
07) What is a PB, and why do I need one?
PB means 'Played By', and is an actor/singer/model/whoever that you chose as a visual representation of your character. Whilst this is not central to game play, it helps to have a visual reminder of the characters behind screen names, particularly with any less commonly known characters. You will need one.
08) How detailed do you want the application form to be?
We need to know that you have a good understanding of your character, not just that you know his or her stats. Your application needs to be detailed enough to demonstrate this to us.
09) Why do I need to provide a writing sample?
Knowing what your character looks like, and their history, is important. However, knowing that you can take your knowledge and understanding, and write in a way that conveys this is important too.
We will also want to see that you have a good grip of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
10) What do you mean political leaning? With the war over, the political "parties" have altered somewhat. Please use the following as a guide to help you gain a better grasp of where your character falls on the spectrum. If you have further questions, please check out this post for examples.
Integrationist: Liberal - integrate now, why wait? Conservative - start process now, but don't rush too quickly [they would still consider the embassy missions good]
Separatist: Liberal - OK, so maybe integrating right now isn't good. Or maybe we should keep things separate, but ease up on prejudices on those who cross lines? Conservative - integrating isn't a good idea. We're separate for a reason. There should be punishments for those who endanger the separation.
Isolationist: Liberal - integrating? NO. We are separate and different and those who cross boundaries should not be allowed to return. Muggleborns should not be allowed to attend Hogwarts. Conservative - any who cross boundaries should be killed. muggles are creatures. muggleborns are an abomination
